2. Quizpion principles

Quizpion can be played without registration. There is no sign-up with an email address and password.

To the best of our current knowledge, Quizpion does not use advertising networks, social media pixels, Google Analytics, affiliate tracking or profiling for advertising purposes. Personal data is processed only where necessary to provide, secure and improve the quiz.

3. Website access and hosting

When you access the website, the web server processes technically necessary connection data so the page can be delivered to your browser. This may include your IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, HTTP status, referrer and browser or device information.

This processing is required for stable, secure and error-free operation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The application also uses the connection address temporarily to limit write requests. It is not stored as a personal usage profile.

Retention of server and infrastructure logs depends on technical requirements, security needs and the configuration of the production hosting environment. The data is not used for advertising or personal usage profiles.

4. Quiz rounds and technical requests

To select and deliver questions, technical requests may be sent to the Quizpion application. These may include language, a country code derived from browser settings, category, subcategory, difficulty and previously seen question IDs.

This information is used to provide the requested round, support regional question selection and avoid repetitions. No registration is required. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where processing is necessary to provide the requested quiz function, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for security and technical stability.

Quiz scoring is a game function only. There is no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects and no personal profiling.

5. Local browser storage

Quizpion currently does not set its own cookies. Instead, the application stores certain settings and game data locally in your browser using localStorage. This data is not automatically transmitted to Quizpion.

You can delete this data at any time through your browser settings. Without local storage, Quizpion and the basic quiz function generally remain usable, but local results may no longer be available.

6. Answer statistics without profile association

After a quiz round, Quizpion may send technical answer statistics to the question database. These include a random result ID, language, question IDs, whether an answer was correct and the response time.

The data is stored as aggregated attempts, correct answers and response times per question and language. It is used for quality control, identifying unusually difficult questions and improving the question database. The result ID prevents duplicate submissions for the same round.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the technical and editorial improvement of the quiz. If the quiz runs as a local fallback without an available API, these statistics are not transmitted.

7. Contact by email

If you contact Quizpion by email, the information you provide, especially your email address, name and message content, is processed to handle your request.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns pre-contractual measures. The data is deleted once the request has been conclusively handled and no statutory retention obligation or legitimate reason for further storage remains.

8. No analytics, advertising or tracking services

To the best of our current knowledge, Quizpion does not use external analytics or marketing services, including:

• Google Analytics or comparable audience measurement
• Meta/Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel or other social media trackers
• advertising networks, retargeting or affiliate tracking
• embedded social media plugins or external video players

Fonts and quiz graphics are delivered locally by Quizpion. During normal use, this does not cause your browser to connect to Google Fonts or another external asset service.

9. Recipients and data sharing

Personal data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising purposes. Processing by technical service providers may be necessary, in particular by the hosting and infrastructure provider and the database service used for the question database. These providers process data only as needed to operate and secure Quizpion.

Data may also be disclosed where required by law, necessary to prevent abuse or requested by you. Transfer to countries outside the EU or EEA is not intended under the currently planned infrastructure. If a provider with a third-country connection is used in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

10. Storage period and deletion

Local game data remains in the browser until you delete it or the application replaces it.

Aggregated answer statistics are stored for as long as necessary for question quality control and improvement. Technical server logs are deleted or anonymized according to the hosting configuration once they are no longer needed for operation and security. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.

11. Security

Quizpion limits access to stored data to what is technically necessary. Write requests to answer-statistics endpoints are rate-limited and validated. Production infrastructure separates the application and question database; local development and administration functions are not publicly exposed.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights in particular:

• access to processing and stored personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure of personal data (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
• withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)

13. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, especially in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy will be updated if functions, technical infrastructure, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version is available on this page.
