Geography - Regions and continents - Countries of the world
How many countries are there in the commonly used international count?
Correct!
A commonly used count is 195 countries. It includes the 193 United Nations Member States and the two UN observer states, the Holy See and the State of Palestine. The number is not entirely unambiguous because some territories have only partial political recognition. Other totals are therefore possible depending on the definition, but 195 is the common answer in general-knowledge questions.
