Nature and environment - Conservation - Wildlife crime - Species conservation
What is meant by poaching?
Correct!
Poaching means the unauthorized hunting, capturing, or killing of wild animals, for example without a permit, during a closed season, or in a protected area. Poaching is a major conservation problem internationally. The illegal hunting of elephants for ivory and rhinoceroses for their horns is particularly well known. Big cats, pangolins, great apes, birds, and many other species are also affected. Poaching can further reduce small populations and thereby increase the extinction risk of species that are already threatened.
Poaching can reduce small populations even further and increase their extinction risk.
