Dinosaurs & Prehistory - Dinosaurs - Dinosaur anatomy
Which dinosaur was known for its exceptionally long, sickle-shaped claws on its forelimbs?
Correct!
Therizinosaurus was an unusual Cretaceous dinosaur. Its forelimbs carried enormous curved claws that could exceed half a meter including their bony cores.
Despite its threatening appearance, Therizinosaurus was probably mainly herbivorous. Its claws may have helped pull branches and plants closer or defend against attackers. It lived about 70 million years ago in what is now Mongolia.
