Which is the highest mountain in the world?
Correct!
Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain when measured by elevation above sea level. Its summit is about 8,849 meters high in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and Tibet. However, the answer depends on how “highest” is measured: Mauna Kea in Hawaii is taller from the seafloor to its summit, but rises only about 4,200 meters above sea level.
Mount Everest is the highest point above sea level; Mauna Kea is taller from its underwater base to its summit.
