Why do dogs howl?
Correct!
Howling is a natural form of communication. Dogs may use it to seek contact, respond to other dogs, attract attention, or signal their presence and territory.
Sirens, music, or other high and sustained sounds can trigger howling. Loneliness, stress, excitement, or pain can also be involved, so unusually frequent sudden howling should be considered together with the dog’s other behavior.
