Who designed the famous dome of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome?
Correct!
The monumental dome of St. Peter's Basilica was designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti. In 1546 he took over the management of the work on St. Peter's Basilica and developed the dome design, but did not live to see its completion. By the time Michelangelo died in 1564, construction had progressed to the drum. Giacomo della Porta and Domenico Fontana then completed the dome between 1588 and 1590 based on Michelangelo's basic conception. Today it is one of the most famous landmarks in Rome and the Vatican.
