Astronomy and spaceflight - Solar system - Solar System planets
How many planets are in our Solar System?
Correct!
Our Solar System has eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They orbit the Sun. Pluto was once called the ninth planet, but since 2006 the International Astronomical Union has classified it as a dwarf planet. Therefore, the commonly accepted answer today is eight planets.
