What is LDL cholesterol?
Correct!
LDL stands for low-density lipoprotein. LDL particles carry cholesterol through the blood to different tissues in the body. If there is too much LDL cholesterol in the blood over time, cholesterol can build up in artery walls and contribute to plaque formation. For this reason, LDL is often informally called “bad cholesterol.”
LDL carries cholesterol to body tissues and can contribute to plaque buildup when blood levels stay high.
