What is an open-jaw flight?
Correct!
An open-jaw flight is a round-trip itinerary in which the airports or turning points do not match in the usual way. For example, a traveler might fly from Frankfurt to New York, continue overland to Boston, and fly back from Boston to Frankfurt. A return from New York to Munich instead of the original departure airport in Frankfurt can also be an open-jaw arrangement. This booking format is useful when travelers want to combine several destinations without returning to the airport where the trip began. In air-fare terminology, different types include an origin open jaw, a turnaround open jaw, and combinations of both.
