What makes a flight nonstop?
Correct!
A nonstop flight connects the departure airport and the destination without the aircraft landing at another airport in between. The traveler remains on one continuous flight segment until reaching the destination. This differs from a direct flight: under the IATA definition, a direct flight may operate under one flight number and one flight coupon while still including an en-route stop or even a change of aircraft type. The word nonstop specifically describes a journey without an intermediate landing. For travelers, this usually means a simpler connection because there is no transfer and no additional landing scheduled.
