Which Japanese script is mainly used for foreign words?
Correct!
Japanese uses several writing systems side by side. Katakana is especially often used for foreign words and loanwords that have been taken into Japanese from other languages. For example, the English word computer is written in Japanese as コンピューター (konpyuta). Foreign names, scientific terms, animal and plant names and onomatopoeic expressions can also appear in katakana. Hiragana, by contrast, is used especially for grammatical endings and Japanese words, while kanji developed from Chinese characters. Romaji means writing Japanese words with Latin letters.
