What is ketosis?
Correct!
Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the body has only little glucose from carbohydrates available. The liver then breaks down more fatty acids and forms ketone bodies from them, which can be used as an energy source by the brain and other tissues. Ketosis can occur, for example, during prolonged fasting or a very low-carbohydrate diet.
In ketosis, the body increasingly uses fat breakdown and ketone bodies as an energy source.
