Food and drink - Nutrition basics - Dietary fats - Saturated fatty acids
What are saturated fats?
Correct!
Saturated fatty acids are fatty acids whose carbon chain contains no double bonds. They occur, for example, in high-fat dairy products, meat, and some plant fats such as coconut and palm oil. The WHO recommends that saturated fat should make up no more than 10% of total daily energy intake and should preferably be replaced by unsaturated fats.
Saturated fatty acids have no double bonds in their carbon chain.
